wwII_victory The World War II Victory Medal may be awarded to all members of the Armed Forces of the United States or of the Government of the Philippine Islands who served on active duty in World War II at any time between 7 December 1941 and 31 December 1946, both dates inclusive.
occupation The Navy Occupation Service Medal with Europe Clasp was established to commemorate the services performed by the personnel of the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard in the occupation of the territories of the enemies of the United States during World War II, and subsequent to the surrender of those enemies.
American_campaign The American Campaign Medal Effective Oct. 12, 1945, service members who served in the continental United States for an aggregate period of one year between Dec. 7, 1941 and March 2, 1946, inclusive, may be awarded the American Campaign Medal.
national_defense The National Defense Service Medal will be awarded to all persons in the Naval service who served on active duty at any time between 27 June 1950 and 27 July 1954, 01 Jan. 1961 and 14 Aug. 1974, and 02 August 1990 and 30 November 1995.
combat The Combat Action Ribbon with 1 star. Authorized on February 17, 1969, this ribbon is awarded to members of the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard for combat action service. The principal requirement is that the personnel must have been in a ground or surface combat fire-fight, or action during which they were under enemy fire, and that their performance under fire must have been satisfactory.
navy_metorious The Meritorious Unit Commendation, established by the Secretary of the Navy on July 17, 1967, is awarded for valorous or meritorious achievement under either combat or non-combat conditions. It is considered the unit equivalent of the Bronze Star Medal awarded to an individual.
vietnam_serv The Vietnam Service Medal with 1 silver and 1 bronze star. Created by Executive Order 11213, July 8, 1965. It is awarded to all service members of the Armed Forces who between July 4, 1965 and March 28, 1973, served in the following areas of Southeast Asia: In Vietnam and the contiguous waters and airspace; in Thailand, Laos or Cambodia or the airspace thereover or in the direct support of military operations in Vietnam.
Rep. of  Vietnam Gallentry Cross The Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry Unit Citation is awarded to members of the Armed Forces of the United States for valorous achievement in combat during the Vietnam conflict, March 1, 1961 through March 28, 1973.
Vietnam_campaign_ROV The Vietnam Campaign Medal, this medal is awarded to members of the Armed Forces of the United States who: 1) Served for 6 months in South Vietnam during the period 1 Mar 61 and 28 Mar 73; 2) Served outside the geographical limits of South Vietnam and contributed direct combat support to the RVN Armed Forces for an aggregate of six months. Only members of the Armed Forces of the United States who meet the criteria established for the AFEM (Vietnam) or Vietnam Service Medal during the period of service required are considered to have contributed direct combat support to the RVN Armed Forces; 3) Did not complete the length of service required in item (1) or (2) above, but who, during wartime, were: a) Wounded by the enemy (in a military action); b) Captured by the enemy during action or in the line of duty, but later rescued or released; c) Killed in action or in the line of duty; 4) Were assigned in Vietnam on 28 Jan 73, and who served a minimum of 60 calendar days in Vietnam during the period 29 Jan 73 to 28 Mar 73.
  The Battle Efficiency "E" was awarded 1 August 1968 as a result of pre-deploymnet and administrative inspections held in March 1968. The competition was between the six AOG's of the Service Force Pacific Fleet.
